Space Foundations is an online course for anyone wanting to build their knowledge and capabilities of space commercialisation.

About the course

This course is for entrepreneurs, technologists, and researchers with a space tech idea looking to learn the foundational building blocks necessary to turn a breakthrough technology into a business.

You’ll learn from our expert faculty including Dr Tim Parsons (SmartSat CRC NSW Node Coordinator) and Bill Bartee (Co-founder and managing director of Main Sequence Ventures and and Blackbird Ventures), and Sally-Ann Williams (CEO of Cicada Innovations) as well as case studies of Australian space startups, practical worksheets and useful resources to help you get started on your journey.

Space Foundations is free and available for anyone looking to build foundational skills in commercialising space technology – at your own pace, from anywhere.

The National Space Industry Hub contributes to creating a vibrant and globally competitive space industry delivering benefits for all Australians. It is founded on world-class research, innovation, collaboration, and commercialisation.

Delivered by Cicada Innovations and supported by the NSW Government, the Space Hub offers a physical space, resources, mentoring, and connections for emerging space ventures and researchers in Australia. We’ll also be offering commercialisation training programs nationally to share essential knowledge for anyone on the path of creating a space tech venture.
